“Proto” meaning Origin in Latin and “type” meaning Write, font and other synonyms.
We took the translation of “the first version of a concept” and through some word play we
came up with “original type” as the main idea for our project and picked 3 art styles
as our themes.
Learning the thought process of ideation and creation and the audience that will use it being gen-z, was our goal in this project.
1.futurism
Futurism was the first theme chosen as it was a movement youth and dynamism, violence and breaking the order and the norms of society. A revolutionary movement, showing the world through a new and different lens. A new destructive but relatable art style.
The themes of dynamism, violence, destruction and youth are all appealing to the Gen-Z and we wanted to incorporate these elements in the "ULTRAVIOLENCE" font.

2. art deco
Art Deco is a sophisticated and elegant art movement. It represents modernism turned into fashion. The intention was to create a sleek and anti-traditional elegance that symbolizes wealth and sophistication similar to its time.
Art deco was the perfect theme to create an elegant but modern feel in the font "CHYSLER", named after one the most famous buildings of that movement.

3. Indian folk art
How can anybody properly learn and understand others when they haven't even done
so with themselves, touching back to our roots Indian folk art was an obvious choice
for our last theme.
Indian folk art is diverse and full of life with its pattern's shapes and colours.
We thought it to be interesting if we made this decorative theme into a simplistic yet
holding the properties of Indian folk themes with the "ALANKRIT" font.
